Within the past couple of years, Chicago has seen a wave of new hip hop artist and talent hit scene. The “Chiraq” & “Drill” movement sweeping across the midwest & spreading over social media only to adopted by other states & artist. e.g. the chicago originated word Thot was addressed by Atlanta Georgia artist Gucci man on Twitter.
This overwhelming flux of new artist has given chicagoan hip hop listeners thousands upon thousands of songs from established grammy nominated artist, to the mediocre thug down the street. very few artist can be singled out and posses a unique nature without having the same traits as 80% of the chicago hip hop market carry’s today, but one local chicago based rapper is challenging this status quo. His name is Frenchi P, Chicago Raised Graphic designer with aspirations to raise the lyrical bar in his market.
Joining Teams with an incredible chicago based female rapper “Jushay,” they released a single called VIP thats becoming Viral amongst local Dj’s & Clubs. When I first heard the song, I thought about the content that was being presented & delivery, which I was impressed. I interviewed Frenchi P today and asked him what can we expect from him in 2015 he said, “more will come, more will follow, but my originality and consistency is a vital element to my music.”
